WINE LIST
House Wine
White
1. Kleindal Chardonnay 2004 (medium to full bodied with a fresh citrus fruit character) Excellent with white fish and scallops.
2. Kleindal Chenin Blanc 2004 (off-dry, light, fresh and floral with some lemonade tones and attractive ripe fruit) Excellent with white meat, fish or shellfish.
Red
3. Kleindal Cabernet Sauvignon 2004 (brightly coloured, scented with fresh blackberry fruit) Fantastic with grilled red meat.
4. Kleindal Shiraz 2004 (delightful wild herb, spicy undertones, black pepper and vanilla notes. Well balanced wine with beautiful plum colour and long silky finish) Fantastic with red meat in spices or sauce.
For our house wine we chose Kleindal from the Robertson Winery in South Africa because you get the best of both worlds, the character of old world wines but the full fruitiness of new world wine.

White Wine
Argentina
6. Sauvignon Blanc, Pascual Toso 2002 (light straw-green colour with aromas of herbs, lemon and coconut, light vanilla flavours). Full of fruit yet light enough to be drunk on its own.
Chile
7. Chardonnay, Las Estrellas 2005. The Mulchen valley in the Casablanca region of central Chile produce fresh young white wines, (fresh citrus flavours great with seafood and pasta)
New Zealand
8. Omaka Springs Riesling 2003 (Just a tinge of sweetness. Aromatic fragrance, floral scents with hint of peach blossom) The stony soils of the Marlborough region on the South Island produce exceptional Rieslings.
France
9. Sauvignon, Côte de Duras, (Dry. Rich, fruity and well balanced. Great with stronger fish or fish served in a sauce)
10. Chardonnay 2001. Domaine Couillaud (supple well structured with a light refreshing finish)
11. Muscadet Sèvre et Maine, sur lie, Domaine La Haute Févrie 2004 (a fresh and fruity wine with a light fizz, silky texture and citrus flavours) Very distinctive flavour derived from “sur lie” maturation on the lees.
12. Petit Chablis 2004, Lamblin & Fils (Fresh palate with good fruit extract. Well balanced with a lengthy fruity finish)

Very few of the new world wine makers can make a good pinot noir but in Marlborough New Zealand they can Deep ruby red with purple tints. Cherry plum and spice flavours. A fantastic wine with game fowl and light red meat)
Spain
23. Rioja Reserva Cerro Anon, 1998 (Lively, full-bodied with balanced tannins and lots of ripe red fruit flavour. A great example of what a great Rioja should be.) France
24. Beaujolais, 2002. Lamblin & Fils. (Aromas of red fruits. Light, smooth and fresh with a delicate floral taste of violet at the end) Excellent with shellfish
25. Bordeaux 2003. Château La Rame. (lovely balance, very pleasant and elegant, with an easy drinking style)
26. Crozes Hermitage, 2003. Domaine Pascal (This wine made mainly from the Syrah grape has a smooth rounded elegance and reserve. Great fruit with supple tannins. Fabulous with charcuterie or relatively spicy food)
27. Chateauneuf du Pape, 2001, Domaine Juliette Avril (intense in colour, powerful and dominated by rich ripe red fruit and aromas of truffle. A good long palate) perfect with fillet of Beef
28. St. Emillion Grand Cru, 1998. Château Le Loup (full of rich ripe fruits balancing tannins. Spicy notes with lingering flavours) Just an amazing wine.
Rosé
29. Bordeaux Clairet, Julien Barthazac, (Sweet, fruity tones served like red wine or slightly chilled if you perfer)
Champagne

30. Domaine J.M. Gobillard Brut Premier Cru, Grande Reserve (aromas of fruit or notes of citrus, peach, pear and honey) This is a fantastic example of what we love in a great Champagne, from a family run vineyard in the Marne valley the birth place of champagne

Sparkling Wines
South Africa
32. Jonge Gezellen Krone Borealis, 1997 (A fantastic wine made in the Traditional Champagne method. This wine spreads over the palate in a lovely leesy creaminess on a good toasty base but finishes as cleanly as a Granny Smith apple. The bubbles are correctly the finest of fine and build to a magnificently explosive mousse in your mouth. Excellent as an aperitif or with shell fish, Fish or white meat)
